Iris Restaurant: The Best Dining Experience in Wakefield

Never had a bad meal here. The best Sunday roast in Yorkshire puddings to die for! Starters are a must i can never manage a pudding as well but they looks special. Staff are very attentive.

Absolutely fantastic. Small cosy restaurant. We came for Sunday dinner and opted for the 3 course meal. Starters came out at a reasonable size... Then when the main course came out we was shocked... Very very generous! Fresh produce, great clean taste. You are paying for quality. Highly recommend

First visit, Thursday May 1st. Wow. What’s not to like. Super menu where you are disappointed you can’t have every dish. We had the pork belly and braised beef, and the scotch egg, and the golden snitch, you really have to. Have eaten in many different places and this is right up there with the best. A real credit to the whole team, from start to finish. Staff attitude was that they simply wanted you to have a brilliant dining experience,, and they achieved that with ease. Can’t wait to be back ( actually back for tapas takeaway on Sunday! 35 mile round trip) Well done guys, and thank you for a superb evening

Steaks here are done to perfection! Would recommend anyone to try one. Really friendly and welcoming staff - great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning shortly!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Iris! The blue cheese arancini for starter was a standout with its well-balanced flavors and lovely texture. The confit duck leg for the main course and the golden snitch for dessert were equally delicious. The service from the staff was excellent. We will definitely be returning for more delicious meals! There was also a good atmosphere in the restaurant… it was busy but not too loud which a good selection of music playing.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Friendly staff and food worth going for. I had the heritage beetroot followed by the Lamb rump and millionaire shortbread and all 3 courses was brilliant.

An okay experience, but wouldn’t return I visited this restaurant with a group of friends and, unfortunately, didn’t feel entirely comfortable from the start. The atmosphere was very quiet and felt a little awkward, more suited to couples than groups, which made us feel like we were unintentionally disturbing the peace. The décor seemed a bit cheaply done and lacked warmth, and the menu was quite limited—particularly disappointing if you're vegetarian, as options were very slim. That said, the food itself was okay, although I did experience a bit of stomach discomfort the following day can't say if it was due to the food or not. On a more positive note, the service was excellent. The two girls serving were very polite, friendly, and accommodating. We weren’t rushed at all, and they even let us stay well past closing without saying a word which we only realised afterwards. Pricing was mid-range, but overall, I found the experience average. With so many better options nearby, I probably wouldn’t return.
